Louis de Poortere rugs are famed for their chic distressed look; a technique which allows the designs to incorporate an eclectic mix of rich colours into the fabric without appearing garish. Cracks - a new design for the Mad Men collection. It shows a surface of cracked ice, as on the ice rink of Rockefeller Square.

It also represents the world below the surface, the deep blue of the abyss, the darkness of the mineshaft with the lode of gold at the bottom, or the far corners of a pinewood forest. The Mad-ison Men were the golden boys of the sixties who "dreamed up" the images of the iconic brands of the USA. Inspired by this theme, De Poortere has created a new collection of "Vintage-Sixties" rugs. A mix of straight and broken lines, of dull and shining yarns, of smooth and ragged pencils strokes.

Over a century of skill and craftsmanship is woven into every rug we produce. Woven on jacquard Wilton looms in a combination of pure new wool and cotton chenille, each beautiful rug has multiple layers of texture, distressed areas and intricate stitching detail to give a true vintage look. Woven in a fashionable flat weave construction, all our rugs are hand finished with reinforced corners and an anti-slip layer for a secure fit. There is a superb choice of sizes available too, as each rug is woven in nine standard sizes ranging from 60 cm x 90 cm up to 280 cm x 360 cm, ensuring there is a size just right for every room in the home.
