Steve McQueen was a competitor competing for the Americans in the 1964 event held in East Germany. This jacket was rel eased in December 2010 and has been in my possession since then and has never been worn. The jacket was produced in 2 Styles. 1 as original new look. 2 as pre worn with unique distressed look.
Union Jack Flag patch on left chest. Heavy duty "two way" zip.
Full front zip closure, with storm flap. Four front pockets with press stud storm flaps.
Two back pockets with press stud storm flaps. Short funnel neck collar with buckle closure. Includes 75th Anniversary Pin Badge. Barbour created the International jacket specifically for the 1936 International Six Day Trials - which is where the jacket takes it's name from. Designed with pure functionality in mind, the International became the jacket of choice amongst professional motorcyclists through the 1950's - 1970's, it was also worn by Steve McQueen, and also the legendary stunt rider Bud Ekins. This iconic olive jacket has been produced with a painstaking attention to detail, with nothing over looked - from the original ISDT Union flag embroidered badge, to the original pocket sizes, belt, collar fastening and tartan lining everything has been reproduced as closely as possible. It's available as new, or in an aged, distressed finish which looks really authentic and like it's seen decades of use. Both finishes are made in very limited quantities.
